A contemporary mountain home of beams, glass, and clean lines — built into the hillside with the Blue Ridge as its backdrop.
Brief description
Completed in 2025 in the gated community of The Settings of Black Mountain, this 3,564-square-foot custom home is a study in contemporary mountain design. A timber-clad entry beneath a sculptural roofline opens to vaulted, beam-lined ceilings, wide-plank hardwood floors, and an open floating staircase with horizontal cable railing. A linear fireplace set in a large-format stone surround grounds the main living space, while expansive glass and a cantilevered deck — complete with a hot tub — carry the eye straight out to the surrounding ridgelines.
The kitchen is built for both design and function: sleek flat-panel cabinetry, a quartz waterfall island with apron sink, a gas cooktop framed by a bold geometric backsplash, and a custom walk-in scullery just beyond. The primary suite is a private retreat in its own right, with a slatted-wood feature wall, freestanding soaking tub, oversized glass shower, and dual vanity, while a dedicated home gym, custom walk-in closet, and rooftop solar round out a home that’s as thoughtfully equipped as it is finished. From the foundation to the final detail, it was built to the standard every AR Construction home is held to — engineered for its mountain site, precisely detailed, and made to last.
